Project DMS Georgia
Project Overview
Deep Mine Storage
Rewind is scaling its impact in Tkibuli, Georgia through our first commercial Deep Mine Storage site. Sustainably sourced biomass is injected into deep, disused mine chambers, where naturally anoxic (oxygen-free) conditions create a geologically stable carbon store.
The project has been underway since July 2025 and is actively removing carbon, representing one of the fastest projects to go from 0 to active permanent CDR capacity in less than 12 months.
Where DMS Georgia Shines
- Geological Permanence: plant carbon locked awayfor millions of years
- Rapid Scale: from 0 to 5k tpa in less than 12 months
- Energy, Carbon, and Cost Efficient: achieving net CO2 removal ratio of 97%
- Transparent MRV: every truckload of carbon tracked end to end and monitored for decades
Co-benefits of the DMS Georgia Project
- Providing new job opportunities and supporting a just transition
- Improving the Georgian sawmill industry and upcycling valuable plant carbon
- Improving mine monitoring and safety
- Sharing the Project's benefits directly with the local community
